How long does residential epoxy flooring last?

15-20+ years with proper installation and minimal maintenance. Garage floors in high-use households may show wear after 10-15 years depending on traffic.

Can epoxy be installed over existing tile or VCT?

Sometimes. Tile must be fully bonded, non-porous, and properly prepared. We assess on-site. Removal often recommended for best results.

Is epoxy slippery when wet?

Any smooth surface can be slippery when wet. For epoxy applications where slip resistance is a concern—such as bathrooms, pool decks, and outdoor areas—we can incorporate anti-slip additives like aluminum oxide or silica sand into the topcoat to help improve traction.

What's the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?

Epoxy (100% solids) Pros:

• Superior adhesion and build/body

• Excellent for patching and repairs

• Best vapor tolerance

• Self-levels beautifully

• Most cost-effective

Cons:

• Slower cure time (24-72 hours)

• Not UV stable (can yellow outdoors without topcoat)

Polyaspartic Pros:

• Very fast cure (1-2 hours return to service)

• Best UV stability (no yellowing)

• Extremely flexible

• Excellent topcoat option

• Good for cold climates

Cons:

• Higher cost

• Thinner application (requires multiple coats for build)

• Poor self-leveling

Light foot traffic: 24 hours. Normal use: 72 hours. Heavy vehicles/equipment: 7 days (full cure).
